Hundreds of giant puppets, 53 bands and thousands of New Yorkers in costume will take part in the annual New York's Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, on Wednesday, October 31, 2007. The massive event unfolds beginning at 7 pm on Sixth Avenue from Spring Street to 21st Street, and lasts until around 11 pm.This year marks the 34th Annual New York's Village Halloween Parade. Started by a Greenwich Village mask maker and puppeteer in 1973, the Parade began as a walk from house to house in his neighborhood for his children and their friends. 25 years later, the Parade draws more than 50,000 costumed participants and spectators estimated at 2 million.
